What am I going to say? What am I going to do? She asked herself, walking down the street to clear her mind of things. And also to think of how she was going to ask Bert on a date…. Date? No. Not a date. Mary did not want to call it that. It’s not a date! We are friends. Simply friends….Maybe I can just not ask him? No, I promised Reginald… Practically perfect people never break promises. She sighed and continued walking, trying to think of exactly what to say and do.

Bert was cheerily greeting each and every passerby in the park that morning. It had been a beautiful morning, with sun and a nice breeze for flying a kite. Which is why, in fact, he had brought out his little travelling kite shop. He had been busy making jokes and selling kites to all the children who passed by with their mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters. Today was truly a fantastic day. “Ah, Mary Poppins!” He spotted her not too far away, but noticed that she happened to look a bit puzzled. “Is somethin’ troublin’ ya, Mary?” He asked with a tilt of the head.

Oh no, not at all really. I really only have adventures when I’m here in London. Though not too many, since I do have a job to do. We must keep that very important factor in mind.

O’ o’ course, Mary. We all know ‘ow emportant yer job is te ya. By tha way, where are tha lil’ kids yer lookin’ after?

Jane and Michael? Oh, they’re out with their father right now. It was rather odd, actually. Mr. Banks simply told me this morning that he was giving me the day off. Completely out of the blue. Very strange.

O’ well tha’s perfect! We can go on a lil’ adventure of our own! Whadya say, Mary? *he grabbed the collar of his shirt and winked*
